North west Province
UAT, in partnership with the Tau Project, located a house belonging to a widowed mother of four which was incomplete and in poor condition. Over less than two weeks, they upgraded the house: tiled floors, repaired/furnished doors, added furniture and new beds, installed curtains. Basically turned a partial shelter into a home. In addition to the house improvements, UAT + Tau Project also distributed 140 food parcels to members of the Makhubung community during the handover. The initiative was not just about infrastructure—it was also a dignity / relief project: giving people a safe, finished home, and food when needed

Scale limits: Such home upgrades are intensive. They cost more per house and take more time relative to mass housing builds. So while very meaningful, they can’t alone solve large housing backlogs. Sustainability: Upgrades need follow-up: maintenance, infrastructure (water, roads, electricity, etc.). If those aren’t addressed, improvements may deteriorate. Funding, capacity & logistics: Finding skilled labor, materials, funds; selecting which homes to upgrade; managing expectations when many are in need..

North west CALENDAR

The United Africans Transformation (UAT) Calendar is a centralized platform designed to keep members and stakeholders informed about upcoming events, meetings, and initiatives. This dynamic tool provides a detailed schedule of all UAT activities, including workshops, executive council meetings, community outreach programs, and special events. Doers can easily access the calendar on any device, enabling to stay updated and plan for participation effectively. Each event entry includes essential details such as the date, time, location (or virtual meeting link), and a brief description of the event's purpose. The UAT G Calendar serves as a vital resource for fostering collaboration, improving communication, and ensuring active engagement within the organization.
